Dr. Vigliani has been in practice for over 25 years, and is well known in the community. She is a Clinical Associate Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Brown University. She is on the staff at Women and Infants Hospital. As an OB/GYN physician Dr. Vigliani accepts patients for either obstetrical care or for gynecological services. Dr. Vigliani's deliveries are performed by University OB/GYN doctors, who are available 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week at Women and Infants Hospital. Gynecological services include treatment for specific female disorders such as infertility, pelvic pain, irregular periods, endometriosis, fibroid tumors, urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, menopause etc. Medical management is offered with an emphasis on patient autonomy, self-help, and education. In Office procedures offered by Dr. Vigliani include colposcopy, cystometrics, cryosurgery, artificial insemination, endometrial biopsy, menstrual extraction, termination of pregnancy, breast cyst aspiration, and many other minor surgical procedures under local anesthesia. Whenever surgical care is required, Dr. Vigliani will co-ordinate your surgery with surgical specialists and will assist on all surgeries. At all times Dr. Vigliani attemps to provide the patient with a thorough understanding of the disease process, the various methods of treatment available, and the reason surgery is recommended. We encourage second opinion for all surgery and recognize the right of the patient to refuse treatment or change physicians if she is dissatisfied with her care. New or established patients needing preventative annual checkups may see Dr. Vigliani for detection of breast and reproductive cancers, for STD screening, for family planning services, and for assistance in reducing risk factors for heart disease, osteoporosis, and breast cancer. Patients are encouraged to participate in decision making, whether it be in the context of contraceptive choices, prenatal diagnostic testing, birthing and breastfeeding, or lifestyle choices such as diet, exercise, smoking cessation, and/or hormone replacement therapy. |
